Insurgents Attack Market in Kapisa Province

KABUL, Afghanistan - ISAF service members provided medical assistance and transported to local and ISAF hospitals scores of wounded Afghans injured in an attack by insurgents on a local Tagab market in Kapisa province today.

Initial reports indicate four Afghans have been killed and more
than 40 were injured in the attack by indirect fire.

"Insurgents continue to harm the Afghan people with their actions. They are doing everything they can to stop the incredible progress the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and international forces have achieved in working together," said Capt. Jane Campbell, IJC spokesperson.  "Our deepest sympathies are with the families of those killed and injured in this indiscriminate attack."

No ISAF service members, who were in Tagab to meet with local
leaders, were injured in this attack.
